I.Why should you join CHSAAA. What do you get for your $25 annual membership? Maybe a good place to start would be to compare CHSAAA to classmates.com. It’s price is $30 a year.
The Classmates.com web site lists class rosters for every graduating class but include only those people who have logged on either as visitors or as paying members.You can register for any school or graduation class you like.

II. On the CHSAAA web site we have arranged class roster by decades. As you click on to these links photographic collages to memorialize these decades. From there you click on to each individual graduation class where the authentic class roster is listed. This often is the starting point for classes
to organize class reunions. CHSAAA has a data base of addresses, phone numbers  and email addresses relating to these rosters. Your $25 annual membership in CHSAAA makes this possible.
The Commercial alumni class indicates if that person would like to receive e-mail and whether or not they have filled out a profile survey. This survey among other things tells how expensive a car they drive, what their political philosophy is, their hobbies, their pet peeves, what their income level is, family pets,  whether they feel  they have achieved their goals in life etc.  They may also have photos of themselves or family on file that  can be viewed. They may also write a bio about themselves which can be accessed by anyone.
III. CHSAAA will relay E-mail messages that alumni who are Members of  CHSAAA wish to send. This can be to any Cupertino High School alumni who has an e-mail address on file with CHSAAA. The person contacted then has the option to answer if they so wish. We always protect the privacy of CHS alumni.

The commercial alumni web sites will also relay messages sent by members of their web site to other alumni of the school they graduated from. They don't allow exchanging of e-mails. Communication must be carried on through them. This means more hits on their sites.This makes the data they sell more expensive. Yes, its all about the money.

IV. CHSAAA makes its data available only to CHS graduating classes organizing class reunions and other larger or smaller CHS groups working on getting together.  CHSAAA also generates and facilitates multi-class events and even decade get-togethers and yes 50 Year Birthday Parties too. Your CHSAAAMembership makes this possible.
The commercial alumni web sites make most of their money not from selling memberships but from selling information. E-mail addresses can be neatly divided up into particular age groups based on when that person graduated. The same can be done with the profile surveys information that they acquire not only from members also often from the unsuspecting  web site browser.
V. All CHSAAA incomes generated by CHSAAA memberships go to maintaining tinoalumni.org website and facilitating-encouraging ALL CHS reunions. We hope to eventually be able to give significant financial support to present day CHS too.

All profits naturally go to Classmates.com and they do very well. This is the "Information Age" and they have lots of it to sell. All CHSAAA members  are given complete access to our web site and only CHS alumni have the privilege of joining.
